Frequently asked questions

  • When and where does the Cotswolds Mighty Hike start and finish?

    The full marathon will start at Blenheim Palace, OX20 1PY and the half marathon will start at Cornbury Park, OX7 3HL.

    Both hikes finish at Blenheim Palace, OX20 1PY.

    The full marathon waves will start every 20 minutes from 06:30, and the half marathon waves will start every 20 minutes from 08:00.

  • What is the Cotswolds Mighty Hike route?
    The Cotswolds Mighty Hike starts at either Blenheim Palace for the full marathon, or Cornbury Park for the half marathon. You'll be hiking through the beautiful Cotswolds, before heading back into the finish line at the breathtaking Blenheim Palace.

    Please note that the routes can be subject to change following health and safety inspections. Any key changes will be communicated on the day.
  • What are the route highlights for the Cotswolds Mighty Hike?

    Along this stunning route, you'll experience:

    1. Cornbury Park Estate - a beautiful and expansive landscape full of natural charm.
    2. Chocolate box villages - picture perfect, iconic of the Cotswolds and each brimming with quintessential English character.
    3. Blenheim Palace - could there be a more impressive and grand setting to start (full marathon) and finish your Mighty Hike.

  • Where should I stay for the Cotswolds Mighty Hike?

    For ease of getting to the car park at Blenheim Palace, we recommend staying in either Woodstock or Oxford, just a short distance up the A44 to the venue.

  • How do I get there?

    Blenheim Palace is accessible by foot, bike, vehicle or public transport. It is a 12 minute walk from the centre of Woodstock.

    The S3 and S7 buses run frequently between Oxford and Blenheim Palace. Please note that we can't guarantee that public transport will be running at the time you will be starting and finishing your hike. You can check the timetable here.  

    Parking for the full and half marathon is at Blenheim Palace, OX20 1PY.

    Free shuttle buses will run from Blenheim Palace to the half marathon start venue at Cornbury Park on the morning of the event. The full marathon is an A-A route which will take you back to your car at Blenheim Palace.

    You can book parking and shuttle buses when you register.

  • What if my Mighty Hike gets cancelled?
    If your Mighty Hike is cancelled for any reason, you’ll be contacted by email and text and live updates will be made to this FAQ document with all the information you need.
  • Is the Cotswolds Mighty Hike accessible?

    We aim to make our Mighty Hikes as inclusive as possible and will do our best to support participants with health conditions or disabilities.

    However, please note that our routes are not wheelchair accessible.
