Macmillan adopts new walking scheme

Macmillan has teamed up with walking charity The Ramblers| to take over the Walking for Health scheme.

The charities will jointly manage a programme of 600 health walks across England, with over 75,000 participants.

Ciarán Devane, Chief Executive of Macmillan, says of the collaboration, ‘Together we can increase opportunities for people to become more active, whether it is because they have cancer some other condition, or just want to be healthy.’

The two charities will use their expertise to encourage the growth and development of services for local health walks schemes. They will also increase opportunities for people affected by cancer or any other condition to participate.
