  • When and where does the Thames Path Mighty Hike start and finish?
    Your Mighty Hike starts at Windsor Racecourse, SL4 5JJ, where you’ll join your fellow hikers and get ready to take those first steps together.

    Taking on the half marathon? Your finish line is at Marsh Meadow, SL6 9SB.

    Going the full distance? You’ll keep following the Thames to your finish at Mill Meadows, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 1BF.

    Full marathon: Waves every 20 minutes from 08:10
    Half marathon: Waves every 20 minutes from 09:30
     
  • What is the Thames Path Mighty Hike route?
    Starting in Windsor, you’ll pass Windsor Castle before joining the Thames Path and following the river through the countryside.

    Half marathon: Windsor to Marsh Meadow, near Cookham
    Full marathon: Windsor to Mill Meadows, Henley-on-Thames

    Sometimes we may need to make changes to the route to keep everyone safe. If anything changes, we’ll make sure you know.
  • What are the route highlights for the Thames Path Mighty Hike?

    Get ready for some brilliant moments along the Thames Path:

    • Set off with Windsor Castle in view – Start your Mighty Hike with one of Britain’s most famous landmarks setting the scene as you head towards the Thames with your fellow hikers.
    • Follow the Thames through the countryside – Settle into your stride beside the river, with boats on the water and plenty of green space around you as the miles tick by.
    • Going the full distance? Keep an eye out for Temple Island – Spot this distinctive landmark on the river as you make your way towards Henley and that all-important finish line.
     
  • Where should I stay for the Thames Path Mighty Hike?
    Want an easier start to your hike day? We recommend staying in or around Windsor, where you’ll find plenty of places to stay close to the start at Windsor Racecourse.
  • How do I get there?
    We recommend having access to a vehicle or bike to get to this event. 

    Parking for the full marathon and half marathon is available at the start at Windsor Racecourse, Windsor, SL4 5JJ.

    Free shuttle buses will run from both finish lines back to the car park in the afternoon.

    You can book parking and shuttle buses when you register.
     
  • What if my Mighty Hike gets cancelled?
    If we ever need to cancel your Mighty Hike, we know how disappointing that will be after all the training, fundraising and excitement leading up to the big day.

    We’ll make sure you know what’s happening.

    You'll be contacted by email and text, and live updates will be made to this FAQ document with all the information you need.
  • Is the Thames Path Mighty Hike accessible?

    We aim to make our Mighty Hikes as inclusive as possible and will do our best to support participants with health conditions or disabilities.

    However, please note that our routes are not wheelchair accessible.
