  • When and where does the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike start and finish?

    Your Mighty Hike starts at Norden Farm, Wareham, Dorset, BH20 5DW, where you’ll join your fellow hikers and get ready to take those first steps together.

    Taking on the half marathon? Your finish line is at Journey’s End Field, Swanage, BH19 1NN.

    Going the full distance? You’ll complete the circular route and make your way back to Norden Farm to cross the finish line.

    Full marathon: Waves every 20 minutes from 06:50
    Half marathon: Waves every 20 minutes from 08:50.

  • What is the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike route?
    Starting at Norden Farm near Corfe Castle, you’ll follow an anticlockwise route towards St Aldhelm’s Chapel, before joining the coast and making your way towards Swanage.

    Half marathon: Norden Farm to Swanage
    Full marathon: Continue from Swanage past Old Harry Rocks and Studland, before heading back to Norden Farm

  • What are the route highlights for the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike?

    Get ready for some unforgettable moments along the Jurassic Coast:

    • Set off with Corfe Castle in view – Start your Mighty Hike with the castle rising above the landscape as you head out towards the coast with your fellow hikers.
    • Reach Dancing Ledge – Take in the sea views as the route brings you right to the edge of the Jurassic Coast, with cliffs stretching out ahead.
    • Going the full distance? Take on Old Harry Rocks – Keep following the coast beyond Swanage and watch these unmistakable white chalk stacks come into view as you make your way towards Studland.
       
  • Where should I stay for the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike?

    Want to make your hike day that little bit easier? We recommend staying in or around Wareham or Swanage, where you’ll find plenty of places to stay within easy reach of the start at Norden Farm.

  • How do I get there?

    You can reach the start at Norden Farm by car, bike or public transport.

    Parking
    Half and full marathon hikers can park at Norden Farm, BH20 5DW.

    Taking on the half marathon?
    After you cross the finish line at Journey’s End Field, a free shuttle bus will take you back to the car park at Norden Farm.

    Travelling by train?
    Norden station is right next to the event site, making it another option for getting to the start. Check train times before you travel, as services may not run in time for your start or finish.

    Book your parking and shuttle bus when you register.

  • What if my Mighty Hike gets cancelled?
    If we ever need to cancel your Mighty Hike, we know how disappointing that will be after all the training, fundraising and excitement leading up to the big day.

    We’ll make sure you know what’s happening.

    You'll be contacted by email and text, and live updates will be made to this FAQ document with all the information you need.
  • Is the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike accessible?

    We aim to make our Mighty Hikes as inclusive as possible and will do our best to support participants with health conditions or disabilities.

    However, please note that our routes are not wheelchair accessible.
