MacSlogs is a self-help group for Oesophageal and Stomach cancer patients with/and their carers. We meet four times a year in Boston – normally March, June, September and December. For three out of four meetings we try to find external speakers; the fourth is a social event. A number of health professionals have given their time to talk to us and answer questions, surgeons, pharmacists, dieticians, oncologists. Others give their insights on various aspects to getting back to “normal” life. We try cover subjects relevant to our members and find it important to revisit some subjects (reflux, diet etc.) for the benefit of new people coming in. The meetings are also an opportunity for both patients and carers to meet and talk. Problems that have been encountered can be discussed, individually or in a group, and ideas exchanged on dealing with them. Our group meets at the Wyberton Village Hall, Boston, PE21 7DE. Please phone for times of meetings and further information.
