Brighton & Hove Lymphoedema Support Group

Practical help and support groups

Lymphoedema is the swelling of the limbs and body due to an accumulation of lymph. At least 240 000 men, women and children in the UK suffer with the condition and it increases the risk of cellulitis. Secondary Lymphoedema is caused by damage to the lymphatic pathways and may occur following surgery for Cancer or after radiotherapy. Our group meets on the Thursdays once a month between 7.00pm and 9.00pm either at The Horizon Centre, Brighton or for a more informal meet up locally. It is an opportunity to meet to others with Lymphoedema in a relaxed and supported environment. We have guest speakers or practical sessions or sometimes just an informal session to chat and get to know each other and offer support.
