The Living Tree

Practical help and support groups

Since the onset of restrictions in March this year due to the Covid virus pandemic, The Living Tree trustees have suspended our usual weekly Friday meetings along with the other activities throughout the week which we normally provide. We acknowledge the emotional and psychological impact that social distancing and isolation may have on our members and are therefore using alternative ways to provide support. We are currently, and for the foreseeable future, offering support with a monthly newsletter and fortnightly virtual get-togethers using Zoom when members can connect up for mutual support, friendship and to enjoy time together with a variety of talks and creative workshops. We also offer virtual, twice monthly Mindfulness sessions, telephone talking therapies through our Therapist Partnership and a Telephone Buddies service for one to one mutual support. We have a good selection of relevant books in our library which can be borrowed. Our group would normally meet every Friday 2.00pm -4.30pm at Quaker Meeting House, 95 South Street, Bridport DT6 3NZ and at other times and places for specific activities. We have talks, creative writing & arts, library, complementary therapies, singing, weekly swimming, table tennis, Tripudio, Stepping Out cancer rehab exercise programme, and offer info & support.
