Practical help and support groups

Volunteers can provide support once a week for a short term period to anyone affected by cancer. The support can include practical help at home with tasks such as shopping, light housework such as ironing, hovering, shopping or help with laundry. Our trained volunteers also offer befriending and companionship, emotional support and a listening ear, as well as occasional transport to activities, appointments or social meetings. The scheme is available in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde and South Lanarkshire Areas. The service offers support to people affected by all cancers and operates Monday to Friday 9am to 7.30pm. Weekend support is also available by arrangement.
