Cancer United West Sussex

Practical help and support groups

Currently, we meet every other Tuesday at Littlehampton United Church from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Cancer United aims are to support all those whose lives have been affected by a cancer diagnosis and to help patients find themselves again. Peer to peer support is very important to group member as is social interaction, laughter and focusing on moving forward. Cancer United has a social committee who organise events and outings and transport is available to those who cannot drive or who don't have transport. Social events for fund raising are held throughout the year which members enjoy as it is way of volunteering whilst helping to keep the charity funded. CU Fitter physical exercise classes are an integral part of the meeting for members who are interested in using fitness to help recovery or to prevent recurrence of cancer. For those wishing to part in cancer specific exercise Cancer United has built a gym space specifically designed for cancer patient recovery. Classes are taken by trainers who understand the limitation of cancer and who are accredited to work with cancer patients. We also have a choir who meet every Thursday at Heene Road Community Centre. OUTSINGCANCER is a popular benefit to the group. Please see the website for all the services provided.
