The Drop in Bereavement Centre based at 187 Grange Road, Plaistow London E13 0HA (0207 511 6444) is a small Registered Charity (1161526) Organisation that provides accessible community support services for individuals and families experiencing bereavement in Newham. It also operates an open door policy for the local community living outside of Newham to access as little help and support can be found elsewhere. • Peer Group Support for Men and Women: A weekly group support program offered over a 2 day period helping people to share their experiences of loss from which Users are encouraged to utilise their educational/working skills to bring mentoring opportunities within the Group. • Peer Group Support for Men and Women: A weekly group support program offered over a 2 day period helping people to share their experiences of loss from which Users are encouraged to utilise their educational/working skills to bring mentoring opportunities within the Group. • Complementary Therapies: A varied program of introductory to therapy treatments of reiki, reflexology, aromatherapy body massages, sacro-cranial therapies and metamorphic treatments to those clients who have high levels of needs which can benefit the complementary therapy treatments helping with sleep deprivation, anxiety, stress, depression, all helping to bring about relaxation• Well Being Interactive Workshop Talks: A series of presentations by experts aiming at gradual improvement and re-building of confidence utilising life skills educational workshops to improve mental, health and physical general well being. Grief can be a catalyst in the deciding factor whether a person returns to work or head into a different direction with the changes that has taken place in their lives; these workshops empower individuals to interact in discussions based on work before and after bereavement, family life, and practical issues surrounding loss. Small Group activities of Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Art and Music Therapies are introduced to help bring about rebalance. • One to One Bereavement Counselling sessions: The Counselling service provided by the Centre is person centered. Sessions are led by clients. All clients are treated with sensitivity regardless of nature of grief or period of bereavement. Clients are given 6 weekly 1hrly sessions with the opportunity to access more sessions dependent on the complexities of grief and helping each person in finding acceptance to his/her grieving. This is a fundamental and primary service for each person who is referred. • Advocacy Advice/Signposting Users to other supportive Organisations that can help with housing/council tax benefits, DWP Tax, Wills and Probate as well as practical issues.All Resources can be found on our Resource Page http://www.dropinbereavementcentre.btck.co.uk/RESOURCES

The Drop In Bereavement Centre provides ongoing help and support for bereaved individuals and families. It aims to assist them in coming to terms with bereavement. It seeks to help in making a real and sustained difference in the community.
