Covid 19 pandemic March 2020 resulted in our Organisation having to stop all face-to-face bereavement support activities redelivering operating remotely to maintain continuity in meeting the immediate health, welfare and emotional needs of the bereaved who are GP referred to our Organisation. We are presently offering telephone bereavement counselling with follow online well-being weekly educational zoom activities and specialist covid 19 Support Group Counselling Community workshops for individuals who have lost single/multiple family members to Covid-19. We have seen a steady increase in GP/other Associated Medical Organization referring clients suffering very significant and untimely losses presenting suicidal intent, domestic violence and mental health issues. It is vital for our organization to be able to support people through these workshops further addressing the complex needs of the most vulnerable. The Covid-19 Group Community workshops aim to give the bereaved a shared opportunity to meet others and their family members within a safe identifiable space to meet every Monday evening via zoom, offering mutual support collectively by dealing with the emotional issues they face and the traumatic impact of their losses to covid-19. The workshop also acts and provides people with additional resources in addressing isolation, loneliness, connecting people with supportive local advocacy Organizations in helping them becoming more self-sufficient in rebuilding their confidence, mental health and general well-being. The covid-19 group support workshop is by invitation only and are only for people who have covid related losses. Start time every Monday via zoom 6.30pm - 8.30pm.
