SMYLLE (Boston Area Support Group for Myeloma, Lymphoma, Leukaemia and other blood cancers)

Practical help and support groups

Our Group meets on the first Thursday of each month (with the exception of January and February) at Wings Meadow Activity Centre, Freiston Road, Boston PE21 0JH from 7pm -9pm. During the first half of the meeting we usually have entertainment or a speaker, sometimes health related but usually not e.g. reflexology, tai-chi, bee-keeping, hedgehog hospital, magician, ukulele band, quizzes. Then the opportunity to share experiences with other people diagnosed with blood cancers over a cup of tea/coffee. The group is run by patients but a Macmillan Haematology Nurse Specialist attends meetings and is on hand for informal support. We have also supported each other by providing transport to hospital appointments. We have an annual barbecue in the lovely meadow and a Christmas dinner. Family and friends are very welcome. Admission is £1 per person which includes tea/coffee and biscuits.
