Stockport Upper GI Cancer Support Group

Practical help and support groups

Our Group meets every other month for talks by Health Service Professionals or to discuss topics of common interest. This gives members the opportunity to provide support to each other and to compare experiences in an informal atmosphere.

Cancer type(s):

Oesophageal (gullet) cancer, Pancreatic cancer and Stomach cancer

Our group is run by patients and is for patients and carers affected by Upper GI Cancer. We are supported by the Macmillan Upper GI CNS at our get togethers and our group is also supported by Stockport Upper GI Cancer Team and Macmillan Cancer Support. We try and get together around every two months. We invite various speakers. These may be members of our Health Care Team, other Health Care Professionals within the hospital and community setting, Voluntary Services and others who our group would find helpful. We also have a @steering Group’ where people who are interested can get involved with running the group. Each year our group gets together for an annual lunch which we have in a private room as we are aware that many of us have difficulty with our diet
