The Cancer Information & Support Centre based in the Beacon Centre offers information and support to anyone affected by cancer. The Cancer Information & Support Officer together with a team of volunteers provide a listening ear, as well as verbal and written information, to patients and their family and friends and anyone who might be affected by cancer This also includes support for carers. The centre is manned on a part-time basis by the Cancer Information & Support Officer and volunteers but is open for visitors to help themselves to general information between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm (Monday to Friday). On Wednesdays a Macmillan Benefits Adviser is available for pre-booked appointments and some drop-in sessions in the Cancer Information & Support Centre to offer advice to those affected by cancer. A 24 Hour Answer Service is available when the centre is unmanned so that a message can be left.
