Benefit advice services

Macmillan, in partnership with a range of local advice centres, can provide you with free, impartial and confidential advice to help you make sense of your finances. We provide a fully integrated service across Northern Ireland to make sure that everyone who is affected by cancer is able to access the help they need. We operate a telephone helpline and have advisers located in all the cancer units so you can be seen when you attend for treatment or if you are an inpatient – what’s important is that you get the help you need in a way that suits you best. What can we do? If you or someone close to you has recently been diagnosed with cancer, is going through treatment or is receiving end of life care, our advisers can help you: Assess your entitlement to benefits; Help you make an application; Help you apply for a Macmillan Grant or other one-off grant payments; Advise you about health costs such as travelling expenses; Help you apply for a Blue Badge; Help you challenge benefit decisions. Don’t be put off if you have other income, savings or pensions. Our advisers can check if there any benefits you might be entitled to based on your individual circumstances. Ask your social worker or healthcare professional to make a referral or refer yourself by emailing:
