Macmillan Benefits Advice and Support

Benefit advice services

This service is provided by an experienced Macmillan Benefits Adviser funded by Citizens Advice for one day a week. The adviser provides advice and practical support to patients, their carers and family members on a range of issues such as benefit entitlement, debt, housing, employment, travel costs etc. She also provides information about other sources of financial help available to people affected by cancer. Referrals are made by the Specialist Palliative Care Nurses, Darlington Memorial Hospital and local Citizens Advice Bureaux for any patient living within Hambleton and Richmondshire and more recently within the area covered by Mid North Yorks Citizens Advice. Patients and their families can also self refer.
