This event is part of the Castle Triathlon Series, six weekend triathlon festivals in stunning iconic venues and with distances for all levels from first timers to elites.

In its tenth year, the Castle Howard Triathlon in North Yorkshire, will once again feature a beautiful backdrop and a course with something for every level of triathlete. The 13,000 acre grounds of Castle Howard form arguably the most physically demanding triathlon course of the Castle Tri Series.

How to enter

There are two ways to get yourself a place in the Castle Howard Triathlon:

Macmillan Charity Place

Macmillan are offering you a free place in the Castle Howard Triathlon. We ask you to pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £350 for all distances up to Olympic, or £500 for Gauntlet entries. To apply, simply click the green ‘Sign up today’ button. This will take you to where you can select a 'Free Macmillan Charity Entry'.

Your Own Place

Public entry for the Castle Howard Triathlon is now open at If you want to support Macmillan then just tick our box when registering on the race website. There’s no minimum sponsorship, just raise as much as you can!

What distances are there?

The Gauntlet - 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21km run
Olympic - 1500m swim, 45km cycle and 10km run
Sprint Plus - 800m swim, 46km cycle and 8km run
Super Sprint - 400m swim, 23km cycle and 4km run
Starter Sprint - 200m swim, 13km cycle and 2km run

The minimum age of entry is 16 years old for the Starter Sprint and Super Sprint, and 18 years old is the minimum age of entry for the Sprint Plus, Olympic and Gauntlet distances, as of 31 December in the year in which the participant is competing.
