By supporting Macmillan this Mother’s Day, you can help more mothers and families have access to nurses like Ian, who are there every step of the way.
Kimberley was looking forward to her first Mother’s Day as a mum. Three weeks later she was told she had cancer.
Thankfully, Kimberley was introduced to her Macmillan nurse Ian, which allowed her family to process what was happening and have their questions answered. Ian was there to provide emotional and practical support to Kimberley and her family through this extremely difficult time.
To begin treatment, Kimberley had to deliver her baby, Darcey, at 34 weeks. Kimberley’s cancer journey didn’t end there; Kimberley struggled with the emotional impact of what she’d been through. Ian was there for her and organised for a Macmillan counsellor to support her and her husband Adam.
