Dame Barbara Windsor
dazzled last night at Macmillan Cancer Support’s Annual Ball. The national treasure joined other well-known names and generous guests at The Savoy, together raising a record-breaking £300,000 to help ensure that no one faces cancer alone this Christmas.
Hosted by TV impressionist and comedian Jon Culshaw, Macmillan’s Annual Ball was also attended by acclaimed designer Jeff Banks. The night of fine dining and entertainment included music from the Faithettes and Soul Brothers, as well as a live auction in the iconic hotel’s breathtaking ballroom, which raised £50,000.
These funds will directly support the delivery of Macmillan Cancer Support and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust’s new programme – ‘Supporting you through your cancer care’. The scheme aims to ensure patients experience the best possible care, at every stage of their journey, from diagnosis to end of treatment and beyond. It includes specialist nurses and support from expert cancer navigators who act as the first and single point of contact for all patients’ questions.
All funds raised at Macmillan Cancer Support’s Annual Ball will help ensure that no one faces cancer alone this Christmas. For more information, visit www.macmillan.org.uk
