Our partnership with Travis Perkins and Benchmarx

In 2015 we launched our partnership with Travis Perkins and Benchmarx to build better support for people affected by cancer.

Since the launch of our partnership in 2015, Travis Perkins and Benchmarx have raised over £3.6 million for Macmillan Cancer Support. Through organising fun events in branches, taking on personal challenges like London Marathon and delivering product promotions, employees, customers and suppliers have passionately embraced the partnership, helping us reach this incredible amount.

Right now, Macmillan can only be there for one in four people at diagnosis. We need to be there for everyone and that is why the continued support of colleagues and customers at Travis Perkins and Benchmarx is so important. We have extended our partnership until December 2022, with the ambition to raise a further £3 million over the next three years.

In the UK, around 500 men are diagnosed with cancer every day. However, men often find it difficult to talk about cancer, let alone ask for support. With a high number of male employees, customers and suppliers, Travis Perkins and Benchmarx are uniquely placed to help Macmillan reach and encourage men to speak up and seek support when they need it. Over the next three years, our partnership is helping to raise awareness of the support available and encourage men to speak up and ask for help.

Additionally, the money we raise will help to fund Macmillan’s Direct Services, including the Macmillan Support Line and Macmillan Grants, helping Macmillan to support harder to reach groups, including men, and ensure we are able to do whatever it takes to ensure everyone living with cancer is able to live life as fully as they can.
