Chief Executive (CEO)

Lynda was appointed Chief Executive in March 2015, taking the lead to help Macmillan reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer. She started her career working in communications for charities including Action for Children and NSPCC. Lynda joined Macmillan in 2001 as Head of Media where she developed the charity’s campaigning arm. She was promoted to board level as Director of External Affairs in 2007 before becoming Director of Fundraising where she led the charity’s fundraising team, overseeing the launch of successful new fundraising products and a significant growth in income.

As CEO, Lynda is an expert on the broad range of Macmillan’s work, from the charity’s high-profile campaigns on welfare reform, and the cancer workforce to its fundraising events like World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. As Vice Chair of the Richmond Group, a collaboration of 14 leading health and social care organisations in the voluntary sector, Lynda can also talk about wider healthcare issues.
