2020 was one of the toughest years in Macmillans 100-year history. The pandemic led to an increased demand for our services, while at the same time we saw our income decline due to our fundraising activities being restricted.

In 2020 we lost over £1m in income across Yorkshire. In response to this, Macmillan launched the Yorkshire Appeal, aiming to raise additional funds to cover our emergency response and vital services that are needed to support the 179,000 people currently living with cancer in the region.

Your response to the Appeal has been amazing and saw us raise over £410,000 throughout 2021. We are so grateful, and the funds will help us to do whatever it takes to be there for every person in Yorkshire who needs our services. Every donation received will stay in Yorkshire, whether that is funding critical new Macmillan professionals and nurses, delivering expert advice through the Macmillan Support Line, or providing financial support to those who need it during this pandemic.
