Organs close to the ovaries - image description

This diagram shows the organs close to the ovaries. It shows the two ovaries either side of and slightly above the womb. They are connected to the womb by a fallopian tube. In front of the womb is the bladder where urine is stored. Below the bladder is the urethra, which is the tube that drains urine from the body. Above each ovary is a kidney where urine is made. Each kidney is connected to the bladder by a tube called a ureter. Behind the womb is the lower end of the bowel, known as the rectum. The diagram also shows a network of lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes that are spread throughout the abdomen. The fatty membrane called the omentum is also shown.
