Bladder and bladder wall - image description

The diagram shows a cross section of the bladder showing the four layers that make up the bladder wall. The inner layer of the bladder wall is called the bladder lining or urothelium. Next to this is a layer of connective tissue, then a layer of muscle. The outer layer is made up of fat. There are two ureters at the top of the bladder, one on the left side and one on the right. The urethra is a tube which comes out from the bottom of the bladder.
