Stars come out for Coffee Morning

Who can resist the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning? Not these celebs! Joanna Lumley, Beverley Knight, Rick Astley, Johnny Vegas, Lord Sugar, Miranda Hart, Amanda Holden and Martin Clunes – and his dog Jim – all came out to eat cake for Macmillan. Even Prime Minister Theresa May made time for a Coffee Morning in Maidenhead.

But of course the biggest stars are supporters like you who made all the effort to hold or go to a coffee morning to help people affected by cancer. Thank you – you’re amazing!

Give a car

Say ‘bye bye’ to your old banger this month and donate it for Macmillan. Whether it’s exhausted or still got some life in its engine, our corporate partner Giveacar will scrap or sell your car with proceeds going towards helping people affected by cancer.

To date, they’ve raised an amazing £63,000 for us, which is enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for a year.

Giveacar is taking the admin fee off the first 10 readers who quote ‘MacMag’ when scrapping their car. Visit giveacar.co.uk or call 0207 736 4242.

Going the distance

Supporters from all over the UK are helping to make our new running event, OutRun, a great success. OutRun encourages people of all abilities to set their own distance target for a month, then get sponsored to run even further.

In May, nearly 7,000 runners raised a whopping £550,000. Laura, our Shop team Manager, said: ‘I set myself the challenge of running a total of 31 miles across May and raised £630. I enjoyed it so much that I OutRan September too!’
