npower works with Macmillan

npower has been one of Macmillan’s biggest supporters since 2004, and the launch of our Fuel Management Programme (FMP) in 2007 was one of our most successful joint initiatives of these last 11 years.

The FMP aims to support npower customers who have been diagnosed with cancer and are living in fuel poverty, by giving them a reduced payment plan. This helps them at a time when their energy needs have grown, but their income has often dropped due to their cancer treatment.

The FMP has helped over 2,700 npower customers affected by cancer, and npower has provided over £2.5 million worth of debt relief and support to help those people stay warm. In recognition of this achievement, in 2013 we won the Best Single Project award at the prestigious Third Sector Business Charity Awards.

M&S and Macmillan

Foodie fundraising, super staff engagement and shared values are what makes our partnership with Marks and Spencer so successful.

M&S is the headline sponsor for World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and together we have raised an incredible £4.1million since 2010.

In 2014 M&S raised a record breaking £1.3 million to help fund vital services in local communities across the UK. This incredible total was the result of year round customer and employee engagement, including brave personal challenges, team building fundraisers and in store marketing.

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is the real highlight of the partnership as stores turn green for the whole of September. This September it’s even easier to head to M&S and support Macmillan as we introduce a broader range of products in the foodhall and a selection of brand new homeware.

On top of all their fantastic fundraising, M&S have really embedded Macmillan values into their business. We have worked with M&S to ensure that their employees affected by cancer have the support they need in the workplace, with our Work and Cancer initiative. A number of employees across the UK have also given up their time to volunteer for Macmillan, engaging with the cause on a more personal level.

Together we are tackling issues that M&S customers and employees care about, helping to ensure that where there is an M&S, no one has to face cancer alone.

Boots UK

Innovative service developments, creative fundraising and unique volunteering make our partnership with Boots a sector smasher

Boots UK and Macmillan know how a cancer diagnosis can affect everything. We have combined our expertise to deliver innovative services and connect people affected by cancer to information and support on the high street.

We now have over 2000 specially trained Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists and over 400 Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisors in the UK. These professionals enable us to provide information and tips on dealing with the side effects of cancer in an accessible, trusted environment.

Fundraising also plays a significant part in our partnership with Boots, and as a result of unique fundraising and volunteering initiatives Boots colleagues and customers have raised over £10 million since the start of our partnership in 2009.
