'My time has been well spent.'
You recently told us the most challenging part of volunteering was finding the time to do it. So we wanted to reassure you that whatever time you can spare, Macmillan has a volunteering opportunity for you.
'I'm a busy mum with two kids, and I'm pursuing further studies at university,' says Usha. 'I've been volunteering at my local Macmillan information centre in Croydon for the past seven years. I give five or more hours a week and find it easy to volunteer because of all the tools and courses Macmillan has to support you.
'Sometimes the volunteer in the centre is the first person someone will speak to after they have heard the news that they have cancer. To help them through something life-changing like cancer makes me think that my time has been well spent.'
Choose a volunteer role that fits around you, depending on the time you can give.
