September 2015 saw iconic Somerset House play host to SHARED, a four day exhibition of contemporary art as part of the Macmillan De’Longhi Arts Programme.

SHARED remoulded the basic principle of art ownership where over 10 international artists came together to create artworks that were sold off in parts - offering visitors the privilege of owning one original piece of a major artwork.

The Private View of SHARED welcomed art enthusiasts and celebrities viewing a range of artworks with espresso martini in hand. Guests were able to take part in Liz Rideal’s Checkmate Squared, a photo collage created from photographs of guests using a vintage black and white photo booth. Performance artist Eloise Fornieles allowed guests to be part of Tower of Song, adding bespoke words to coffee glasses, inspired by participants, with an operatic performance entwined.
