How do I apply for a place?Back to top
Secure your place with the swim organisers at www.henleyswim.com.
There is an entry fee which will be taken by credit/debit card when you apply. You will then receive confirmation from the event organisers.
Once you have secured your own place join Team Macmillan online and we’ll send you a fundraising pack containing lots of fundraising and training advice.
How much sponsorship do I need to raise?Back to top
We do not ask for a minimum amount of sponsorship. However, we encourage all swimmers to try and raise as much as possible. Whatever you raise we are extremely grateful for and it will go a long way to helping people living with cancer.
What kind of support will Macmillan give me?Back to top

Will Macmillan help me with my training?Back to top
Of course! When you sign up to swim with Team Macmillan, we will provide you with a comprehensive training pack and advice from our Team Macmillan patrons. We will also advise you of other useful sources of information to help you prepare for the big day.
What happens if I get injured?Back to top
If you get injured while training we recommend you contact your GP, physio or specialist sports injury clinic. They will be able to advise if you are fit enough to swim.
If you do need to withdraw you will need to inform the swim organisers as soon as possible. Please also let Macmillan know so that we can update our database.

When will I get my race number?Back to top
You will receive your race number direct from the race organisers. If you do not receive this, then we would advise you to contact the organisers directly.
What difference will my sponsorship make?Back to top
Challenge Events are a vital component of our fundraising campaign. The money raised from this event will go a long way to help people affected by cancer, for example:
- £14 could pay for a Macmillan benefits advisor for one hour, allowing them to provide welfare benefits and support advice to people affected by cancer.
- £91.80 could pay for a patient’s yearly prescription.
- £554 could help run a typical large Macmillan information and support centre for one day.
- £1,000 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for seven days, providing medical and emotional support to cancer patients and their families.
