Macmillan Wales has created animations in English and in Welsh to highlight how we think cancer care in Wales needs to change.
We created the animations to highlight the importance of putting the person at the centre of their cancer care in Wales and how cancer patients should be supported.
This includes all patients having a needs assessment and a copy of their written care plan, a Clinical Nurse Specialist, who may be their key worker, and information and support.
All of these things are outlined in the Welsh Government’s Cancer Delivery Plan but are not routinely offered to patients.
The animations also highlight the growing number of people living with and beyond cancer in Wales and how we think cancer care in Wales needs to change to respond to this increasing number of patients.
Around 120,000 people are currently living with or beyond cancer in Wales and this is set to double to 240,000 people by 2030.
You can view the animation in English and in Welsh on our YouTube channel.
