Angela Crowe leads the walkers off
Michelle Douglas Memorial Walk
Friends and family of Michelle Douglas joined together in a fundraising walk and raised £6,500! Michelle died earlier this year aged just 32 and her sisters decided they would have a walk in her memory – however, as friends found out about their plans the event grew and 125 people ending up taking part.
The route was 7 miles, crossing the River Tweed near Newtown St Boswells, climbing Scott's View (where they gatecrashed an open air wedding) and then proceeding onto Earlston.
Michelle was well known in her home town of Galashiels and support came from all parts of the town, including bananas from Tesco and Chocolate from Somerfields. Michelle's partner and young son joined the walk for the last mile.
