Muggy outside Leeds Building Society Head Office
The Head Office branch of Leeds Building Society received a visit from the Macmillan Cancer Support mascot ‘Muggy’ to help launch the charity’s annual ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning'.
This year’s event takes place on Friday 27th September, when the Society is aiming to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support by enjoying coffee and cake with its colleagues and customers. The mutual’s head office in Leeds and branches across the country are taking part to show their support.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s annual flagship fundraising event. It enables people to get together whilst raising money for a great cause, to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone. This is the 23rd year of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and Macmillan hopes to beat the £15m raised last year.
Recently, customers throughout Leeds Building Society’s national branch network raised over £900 for Macmillan from the sale of pin badges.
Clara White, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support says 'We are so delighted to have the continued support of Leeds Building Society. Their recent £900 donation raised from the sale of our pin badges was really wonderful and their involvement in World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is hugely appreciated, and will help us reach even more people that need our support.
'With one in three people now receiving a cancer diagnosis at some point in their lifetime, Macmillan wants to ensure that everyone is supported throughout their cancer journey every step of the way. The money raised from this event will therefore help Macmillan fund vital services such as specialist nurses and financial advice and support. By providing such services, Macmillan is one step closer to their goal of making sure that no one has to face cancer alone.'
