Darren Buchan and his team of Yorkshire Terriers completed their amazing Longest Day Golf Challenge on 4 June and managed to raise more than £2000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This challenge involves teams playing 4 games of golf back to back and really isn’t just a walk in the park.
Darren and his team set off at 4.20am at Wyke Golf Club and finally completed their last game at 8.30pm. Now that is a long day!
Clara White, Fundraising Manager in Leeds for Macmillan Cancer Support said, 'We are massively grateful to the Yorkshire Terriers for taking part in this event for Macmillan. It really is a wonderful achievement and the total they raised is phenomenal! This money really will make a massive difference. £2000 could pay for 10 Macmillan palliative care nurses for a day. They help terminally ill people and their families or carers cope with the diagnosis and support them so they can continue with their normal activities.'
And it is not too late to register to take part in your own Longest Day Golf Challenge. Visit our website for more details here http://eventregister.macmillan.org.uk/longestdaygolf
