Robin Appleyard and Dave Scott excited to extend the partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support
Colin Appleyard Ltd has pledged to raise a massive £12,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The dealership has already raised over £7,000 in the last year and wishes to continue their fundraising in 2014 through employee fundraising and sale promotions.
Staff at Colin Appleyard Ltd wanted to support Macmillan after they realised how many people were affected by cancer and how much people rely on Macmillan for emotional and financial support. So far fundraising activities have included a 24-hour sponsored commute-a-thon undertaken on a Yamaha Vity 125cc scooter, street collections, raffles and by taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning with Nuffield Health Shipley in September.
Hayley Cooke, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said, 'The continued support from Colin Appleyard Ltd during 2014 will be invaluable to Macmillan and we’re really excited to be working with all their dealerships this year. Every day 29 people are told the devastating news they have cancer in West Yorkshire and every penny Colin Appleyard Ltd raises will help us reach out to more people who need our support.'
Colin Appleyard Ltd will be holding various fundraising events for Macmillan throughout 2014, including a sponsored cycle ride challenge, sales promotion where every car sold during a promotional weekend will fund a Macmillan nurse for two hours, sponsored runs, as well as raising a cup for Macmillan during the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Tracey Cooper, Marketing Manager at Colin Appleyard Ltd, said, 'More than 1 in 3 people in the UK will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime but thanks to the hard work of Macmillan Cancer Support, more people than ever are receiving practical, medical, emotional and financial support from Macmillan. No one should have to face cancer alone which is why with the help of our customers and staff we want to raise as much money as possible so that Macmillan can continue to meet the needs of people affected by cancer.
