East of England support groups and volunteers invited to free learning event
Members of support groups and individual volunteers affected by long-term conditions from across the region are invited to a Learn and Share event at West Homes Community Stadium, Colchester.
The event is run jointly by Macmillan Cancer Support, the British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK, the Stroke Association and NHS East of England Strategic Clinical Networks and is designed to provide an opportunity for diverse support groups to share knowledge, access tools and resources and learn new skills.
Yemi Apampa, Macmillan Involvement Coordinator in the East of England, says, 'This is a truly collaborative event and a chance for support groups to come together and showcase the great work taking place across the East of England. Our workshops and talks will focus on overcoming adversity and improving health and wellbeing, as well as engaging with the wider community and working in partnership. We hope that people come away feeling supported and inspired to continue the much-needed work they are already doing in their communities. If previous years’ successes are anything to go by, it’s set to be a great day, so don’t miss out – register now.'
