Balfour Beatty supporting local committee in family fun day - a great day out raises £4000
Employees from across Balfour Beatty were joined by suppliers ,clients , family and friends last week, at the company’s annual charity sports day.
In a day jam-packed with good old-fashioned fun, teams competed in events including the egg and spoon race, hula-hoop challenge, welly wanging, three-legged and sack race.
Finally emerging victorious after a tug-of-war decider was team Old Man Bill, closely followed by Howkins & Harrison in second place and Eden in third. Pretty Super Team took home the wooden spoon, proving that it really is the taking part that counts.
The Macmillan Ashby fundraising group were delighted to have Balfour Beatty choose to support them and huge thanks go to Mrs Blunt at Staunton Harold Hall for so generously letting the event go ahead in the stunning grounds of the Hall.
The committee rallied together and baked cakes and music was provided by the fabulous “Griffo” from Loughborough who came along and provided great background music which was really appreciated by the ladies on the tombola and cake stand.
Most importantly, the day raised over £4000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you to everyone who took part. Your support is greatly appreciated.
