Councillor Stephen Akers-Belcher and Fundraising Manager Liz Airey
Hartlepool Borough Council have donated £11,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support, breaking their charity fundraising record for the second year running.
Fundraising events such as ghost hunts, choir concerts, book sales and a Burns Night supper all helped Councillor Stephen Akers-Belcher raise a grand total of £43,000 for charity in the last year, beating the previous record of £40,000 Stephen set the year before.
Macmillan are fortunate enough to be one of the many charities Hartlepool Council so generously support, and our thanks go to the Mayor and people of Hartlepool for their kind donation.
Liz Airey, local Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Manager, said: "This wonderful donation will go a long way to help us in our work, and Macmillan thanks the Mayor and people of Hartlepool for their kind and generous support."
