Macmillan is hosting a cancer awareness and support day on Thursday 26 June to provide information, advice and support to anyone interested in finding more about cancer.
The event, at the Wednesfield Community Centre in Wolverhampton, is supported by Wolverhampton City Council, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Wolverhampton's Patient Advisory Cancer Team and local charities and healthcare organisations. Anyone is welcome to drop in at any time during the day.
It will be an opportunity to meet local healthcare professionals and charity organisations and ask any questions. There will be information stands and workshops available throughout the day on a wide range of subjects including types of treatment, exercise and diet, signs and symptoms, finance and benefits and complementary therapies.
Linda Turner, Macmillan's Community Support and Information Manager in Wolverhampton, says: 'You might be in good health but want to find out what you should be looking out for. You or someone you care for might have had an experience of cancer and are looking for some local support. You might even be an employer who wants to know how to help a member of your staff who might have cancer - just drop in and find out more. There will also be opportunities to find out how to get involved with volunteering or fundraising in the local community.'
