Local Fundraising Manager Liz Airey with Sue Hurst
Ladies Captain Sue Hurst chose to support Macmillan as the charity of the year 2015/16 for the ladies golf club in Billingham.
A huge thanks to Sue Hurst, Lady Captain for choosing to support Macmillan raising funds for local people affected by cancer and of course to everyone who helped support the events over the last year, you have all done amazing!
Liz Airey, Fundraising Manager said; 'Huge thanks to everyone involved, the funds raised could fund a nurse in the local area for over one month which is amazing!'
Every year 1,088 people will hear the devastating news they have cancer in the Billingham area.
6,300 people are currently living with and beyond Cancer. More than one in two of us will get cancer. For most of us it will be the toughest fight we ever face. The feelings of isolation and loneliness that so many people experience make it even harder. But you don’t have to go through it alone. The Macmillan team is there to support people affected by cancer from the point of diagnosis throughout their journey and after care.
