Jackie Gunn and her family & friends "Team Brian" have been fundraising over the last few months raising funds in memory of Jackie’s late husband Brian Gunn.
They organised a sponsored walk, "Walking for Brian our Inspiration" on Saturday 18thJuly from Redcar to Saltburn, some extending the 6 mile challenge to 12 miles! Brian's son Neil and daughter-in-law Claire very bravely took on a skydive, "Brave for Brian" in aid of Macmillan and a good friend Claireand Dennis completed the great north run in September also for Macmillan.
Jackie said 'we wanted to give something back to Macmillan in Brian’s memory and I have set up a tribute page in his honour. The walk was our final farewell. Our day started at Lockwood Beck, Brian's favourite fishing place. It was beautiful and peaceful, the sun shining down. We all had a scattering of ashes, then placed a white rose in the water, it was perfect. We met up with the walkers at Redcar for our walk, had fun along the way and a really beautiful tribute to Brian.'
A big thank you to everyone involved, who helped and sponsored us to reach this amazing amount.
Liz Airey, Fundraising Manager said 'I can’t say enough to thank Jackie along with herfamily and friends they have gone all out to support Macmillan have done afantastic job raising £3244.35 for local people affected by cancer.'
