Local Fundraising Manager Liz Airey with Macmillan nurse and Profound Services.
Profound Services presented a cheque to Macmillan Cancer Support on Wednesday 16th of December, for a donation of £1225 raised by Profound employees at various fundraising events including Macmillan Coffee Morning and fancy dress days.
They took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 12th of September, hosted by Profound employees Leah Liston, Rhiannon Jepson, Bethany Everett and Courtney Mason, and were delighted to say it was a huge success; generating £733.56 alone for the cause!
Steven Ward, owner and Chair of the County Durham based training and recruitment firm commented, ‘we were so proud to participate in the event and raise funds for the charity. The morning surpassed expectation as employers across Peterlee Business Park joined us alongside friends and family of staff’.
‘Macmillan plays such an invaluable part in the community helping individuals and families affected by cancer. Having lost my mam last summer to the disease, my own family witnessed first-hand the dedication, commitment, and personal support the Macmillan nurses provide. We will be forever grateful for their support during such difficult and challenging times. I urge any business, family or individual to find a way of supporting the Macmillan Charity. I would also like to thank our staff for their contribution and for looking after all the people who attended the coffee morning’.
Liz Airey, Fundraising Manager said; ‘Huge thanks to everyone involved, Macmillan could not provide the local services to help people affected by cancer without the support from companies like Profound.
Every year 3,144 people will hear the devastating news they have cancer in Co Durham.
18,200 people are currently living with and beyond Cancer. More than one in two of us will get cancer. For most of us it will be the toughest fight we ever face. The feelings of isolation and loneliness that so many people experience make it even harder. But you don’t have to go through it alone. The Macmillan team is there to support people affected by cancer from the point of diagnosis throughout their journey and after care.
