27 Inches of hair chopped off for Macmillan to raise £2212.00
Anna May Cartridge a young 14 year old girl has had 27 inches of her hair chopped off for Macmillan. Anna decided to do this as a family friend has cancer, and she wanted to raise some money for Macmillan. She organised to have her hair cut off at the Ball Alley in Stanley County Durham, where around 100 people saw her take the chop.
Anna raised an amazing £2,212. Michelle Muir Fundraising manager went along to meet this inspirational young lady, she said, 'Anna is a very brave young girl. Your hair as a teenager is very precious, and not many would do something so dramatic, but Anna wanted to do something great and she did.'
Anna has sent her hair to the little princess trust to be re-used for wigs.
