A team of 30 who all work at Perkins in Peterborough are planning on taking on the challenge of 72 holes, 300(ish) shots and 20 miles of walking to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The challenge takes place on 21st June on the longest day of the year at Elton Furze golf course in Peterborough.
Liam Round and Brian Eldred from the team spoke about why this challenge and Macmillan are so important to them 'The tiredness and pain we will encounter during this challenge is nothing compared to what cancer sufferers and survivors have to endure on daily, weekly or even yearly basis.
'In teams of 4, the three team mates represent what Macmillan do, we will support each other, we will carry each other but ultimately we will beat it together!
'Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.'
