Students from Sawtry Community College fundraising at Serpentine Green
Sawtry Community College sixth formers completed an entire week of fundraising activities last month in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
From the 14-18 July, this group of volunteers raised a massive £1355.89, without including money from sponsors that's yet to be donated.
Starting with a team triathlon, these students completed 100 miles of biking, running and swimming, before holding a collection in Serpentine Green shopping centre with a tombola and some cycling on static bikes to London's Stamford Bridge.
A huge homemade cake sale supported by the whole school, various smaller events held in surrounding villages and a green accessory day on campus finally rounded off these special volunteers week of fundraising.
Jessica Levin, local fundraising manager for Macmillan, said "I am so impressed with these student’s fantastic efforts throughout the week. The money they've raised will go such a long way to helping people affected by cancer and making sure no one faces cancer alone."
