Diane and Pete Wheatley raising money for Macmillan on one of their previous hikes.
Peter and Diane Wheatley, husband and wife from Market Deeping, will be leaving the comfort of their home this July to hike through the wild terrain of remote Iceland.
The couple are taking part in a Macmillan organised Iceland challenge to raise money for the charity, and have been training hard with their two dogs for an adventure that will take them to Iceland and the active volcanic area of Mt Helkawith.
Asked why they got involved in such a challenge, Diane said, "We all know somebody who's been affected by cancer and if we can help just one person through our efforts then it will have been worth it."
Jessica Levin, local fundraising manager for Macmillan, said "We're so grateful for the continuing support Diane and Peter give to Macmillan. It's such an incredible challenge and is just the latest of eleven hiking challenges these two have completed between them, all of which have been in support of Macmillan Cancer Support."
