This year has seen employees at Greenwoods Solicitors take part in a variety of fundraising activities to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. So far fundraising activity has been a great success, raising over £2,400.
Throughout the year there was a variety of events for all employees to take part in. As well as bake sales and other fundraisers within the office the main event was a Hike, Bike and Kayak challenge which a team of staff members took part in. The team headed up to the Lake District and despite the torrential rain and challenging terrain had a great time and raised thousands of pounds. The challenge included walking up Coniston Old Man (803m) followed by cycling up to the top of Grizedale Forest and finishing with a two mile kayak across part of Coniston Water.
Macmillan Cancer Support is aleading national charity which provides support, advice and specialisthealthcare to those affected by cancer. Greenwoods pledged to support Macmillanas the business’ chosen charity until the end of 2015.
Solicitors Kirstie Sowter and Stephanie Bridgman, said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working in partnershipwith Macmillan this year. Macmillan has been a fantastic charity for us to fundraise for as so many of our colleagues have been affected by cancer and have received support from Macmillan. Thank you to Chloe and Jessica for providing exciting fundraising ideasand assisting us throughout the year.”
Jessica Levin, Macmillan Regional Fundraising Manager, said: “We cannot thank everyoneat Greenwoods enough for their hard work and commitment to fundraising for Macmillan. The money they have raised will make a huge difference to the lives of people in Peterborough affected by cancer."
