7 - 10 July 2016
Fringe in the Fen is a music festival staged in Fenstanton with the sole purpose of raising money locally for Macmillan. 2016 will be the third Festival we have organised and over the years we have raised in excess of £100k which has all been donated to their excellent work in Cambridgeshire.
In 2016 we are aligning our event with the national festival that celebrates the life and works of the UK's most famous landscape designer, Capability Brown, who not only lived and owned Fenstanton but is buried in the village churchyard. (see www.capabilitybrown.org)
Each year we attract internationally acclaimed artists to perform in the village and 2016 is proving to be no exception! We have already secured John Rutter, The Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra, Jamie Campbell (violin), Kate Symonds-Joy (mezzo), Clare College Choir along with local favourites such as the City of Cambridge Brass Band, the Galaxy Big Band and various local choirs. During the festival we stage performances from intimate recitals to our Proms in the Park finale.
For 2016 sees the premiere of a specially commissioned piece of music, funded by the HLF, on the theme of landscapes at our Proms in the Park event on 10 July.
