Here are some fun activities for Key stage 4 students/students aged 14-16. The activities can be done on their own, or linked to Macmillan events such as Cancertalk Week or the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Facts about cancer

This fun activity is linked to the following areas of the National Curriculum: English, ICT, and Personal Social Health Education (PSD and PSE).

Learning outcomes

  • Learn the facts about cancer
  • Understand how Macmillan Cancer Support helps people living with cancer
  • Use the Why bother? website as a way of exploring how messages are communicated and impressions created

Supporting each other

This fun activity is linked to the following areas of the National Curriculum: English, Science, Drama, and Personal Social Health Education (PSD and PSE).

Learning outcomes

  • Learn the facts about cancer and how Macmillan helps people living with cancer
  • Consider and develop empathy with people who have cancer
  • Work co-operatively with others

Look after your health

This fun activity is linked to the following areas of the National Curriculum: English, ICT, Art, and Personal Social Health Education (PSD and PSE).

Learning outcomes

  • Learn the facts about cancer and how Macmillan helps people living with cancer
  • Consider personal lifestyle in terms of health
  • Understand that there are ways to reduce the chance of getting ill, even developing cancer
  • Actively put their suggestions into practice
