Macmillan is extremely excited to be working with TONI &GUY , one of the world’s most established hairdressing brands, to launch Strength in Style, a scheme to help improve the quality of hair care on the high street to men, women and children affected by cancer.
Drawing on the experience and expertise from the salons and Toni Mascolo himself, Macmillan and TONI &GUY will develop a training programme that will ensure that people affected by cancer will have access to a salon in their area where a trained professional will be able to provide specialist support and advice on hair care.
Toni Mascolo says; ‘With over two million people living with cancer in the UK, TONI &GUY has the opportunity to have a huge impact on people’s lives. Providing expert care for someone undergoing cancer treatment is something the entire company is passionate to support.’
The training course is due to launch nationwide by March 2010 and will cover everything a stylist needs to know about speaking to people affected by cancer, the effects of treatment on hair and wig styling and cutting.
More information on participating branches will be available in the next few weeks, and please visit our hair loss section for general information. You can also order our Coping with hair loss booklet, CD or audio cassette.
