Macmillan Nurse Consultant (GI consequences of cancer treatments), The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
Since having been appointed as Macmillan Nurse Consultant in GI consequences of cancer treatment, Ann has established a new clinical role, which has focused on:
- improving services for patients
- improving communication with patients and staff
- building team cohesion
- fostering research and education.

Sue Smith Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust,Cancer Services Manager, The Mustard Tree Macmillan Centre, Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
Sue’s vision and hard work have created a ‘flagship’ Centre, with some 60 staff and volunteers, which attracts over 12,000 attendees annually.
She has also made significant contributions to the improvement of supportive care at national and regional levels. In 2001 she secured Macmillan funds for 2.5 posts.
In 2005 she appointed new staff, expanded existing provision and developed and introduced new services. She also established three Outreach Centres to meet the needs of people in West Devon and East Cornwall. Since 2005 she has procured some £4.5 million to improve services at the Centre.

Dr. Graeme Allan
Macmillan GP & Primary Care Cancer Lead, Southport and Formby Clinical Commissioning Group.
As a GP and Macmillan GP, Dr Graeme Allan has led on the implementation of the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre in Southport, Merseyside. The Centre is unique in having a community base within an independent living centre.
The vision for the Centre sees cancer as a long term condition and makes close links with other services provided for people affected by long term health conditions such as Motability, home adaptations, welfare benefits and carer support.
