Our partnership with Wilko

Wilko is a British high street chain with over 365 stores, selling homeware and household goods. We have been in partnership since 2012.

Our partnership with Wilko began in May 2012 when six of their store regions voted for Macmillan to be their charity of the year. Since then, Macmillan has been voted as charity partner every year proving that the cause really resonates with team members.

This year we are celebrating that Wilko team members and customers have raised an incredible £1 million since the partnership began in 2012. This money can fund six Macmillan nurses for three years, helping to provide emotional, practical and medical support to many cancer patients and their families.

We spend all donations on vital cancer services in the counties where they were raised. Therefore helping people living with cancer in the communities where Wilko stores supporting Macmillan are based. Supporting causes on a local level is very important to Wilko under their Doing Our Bit initiative.

Over the past three years, staff have taken part in a number of innovative ways to support Macmillan. They have piloted our successful clothes recycling scheme ‘Bags of Support’ in 102 stores, supported our Not Alone campaign selling wrist bands and displaying posters, taken on Dragon Boat races, climbed mountains and walked miles for Macmillan.

Having a presence in Wilko as a well-loved high street retailer, means that customers have an increased awareness of our brand and how Macmillan can help in the face of a cancer diagnosis.
